Like all MINOX binoculars the BD 8-14x40 BR ED also has a multiplayer coating on all air/glass surfaces. This reduces any reflection and makes the image even more brilliant. The prisms are coated with a phase correction layer which enhances the contrast, even in difficult light conditions, therefore increasing the twilight factor of these new variable power binoculars.
A filling of argon gas prevents corrosion and fogging of the glass, also under extreme temperature fluctuations. People wearing glasses will value the rotating rubber eyecups which can be engaged in different stages – yet another detailed feature, like the wide and comfortable Neoprene strap.

The Minox Open Hinge BL BR Binoculars have been created to offer superb optical performance in an ergonomic and robust package. The Open Bridge design of the binoculars enables safe and reliable operation, even single-handed, allowing more freedom to move when out in the field.

Field of view on the Minox BL BR Binoculars has been improved by 16% over the previous models and the polycarbonate body is rubber armoured to keep it sturdy yet lightweight. The phase corrected roof-prisms in combination with the multicoated lens elements guarantee the best optical performance and neutral colour rendition of the object in view, providing high detail and sharp contrast, even in low-light.

Nitrogen filling and sophisticated sealing technologies keep the Minox BL BR Binoculars fog-free and waterproof to 5 metres while rotating rubber eyecups with individual adjustment and long eye-relief are further convenient features.

Weighing in at just 600g, the BLs feature a new design of rubber armouring which provides better grip in all weather conditions. The central focus wheel is also fully rubber armoured to ensure ease of use and grip, even with gloves on. They are fully waterproof to a depth of 5m and Nitrogen purged to prevent internal fogging during quick temperature changes.

Fully multicoated optics and phase-corrected prisms give the user excellent image clarity and brightness even in our sometimes rather dreary weather conditions. The new Minox BLs focus down to just 2.5 meters and just 1¼ turns of the focussing wheel gets you from close to infinity.

While making use of a lightweight polycarbonate body, which itself undergoes the same rigorous durability testing procedures of the top-end BR binoculars, the BLs still retain the all-metal eyepiece assemblies of the BRs which ensure that the twist-up eyecups stay in place at all times but can be quickly and easily adjusted so anyone wearing spectacles still has a full field of view.
