Rubber eyecups

Rubber eyecups

These soft rubber eyecups are perfect for daytime viewing, or viewing at night from a light-polluted site. They improve the eyepiece view and comfort greatly, and the side wings or blinkers act as screens to ensure that the minimum amount of extraneous light enters your eye so that you only see the light that has passed through the telescope. They will fit most popular 1.25” Plössl eyepieces. With most eyepieces the existing rubber eyecup should be left in place - simply fit the winged version over the top. They are also the ideal compliment for binocular viewing systems especially when used for solar observing.

Red Dot Finder

Red Dot Finder

The Red Dot Finder is a zero magnification pointing tool that uses a coated glass window to superimpose the image of a small red dot onto the night sky, showing where the telescope is pointed. It is equipped with a variable brightness control, azimuth adjustment control, and altitude adjustment control. To use the Finder, simply look through the sight tube and move your telescope until the red dot merges with the object.

Supplied complete with different shoes to suit most type of scopes

Revelation Red Dot Finder

Revelation Red Dot Finder

The Revelation red dot finder is a red dot-type straight-through viewing non-magnifying finder with four different reticle patterns: a conventional single red dot; a single red dot within a circle; interrupted crosshairs with a single red dot in the center where uninterrupted crosshairs would normally meet; and a single red dot within a circle, with crosshairs projecting out from the circle.
You can choose the reticle pattern that best suits your viewing style and personal preferences. The patterns are projected on an oversized partially reflective dielectric optical glass screen. A rubber cover is supplied to slip over the glass screen to protect its premium coatings when the scope is not in use. The finder and base are CNC-machined from a solid aluminum block for strength and durability. The base has mounting holes to enable fitment to telescopes with tubes of diameters from 6" to 14". Once the dovetail base is installed on your scope, the finder body is slipped into the base and clamped in place by a hand tightened screw. The base also fits directly to Skywatcher and Orion USA type finder dovetails. Click-stop azimuth and altitude hex head adjustment bolts allow you to line up the finder with your main scope optics. The adjustments are very accurate, with each click stop equal to 1 arc minute of position change. The appropriate allen keys are supplied for clamping the finder in its base and making the altitude and azimuth adjustments. There is a combined on-off switch and rotary brightness level control on top of the finder. The control provides seven click-stop brightness levels.

Telrad Finder

rre Finder

The Telrad is the best-selling non-magnifying finder for Dobsonians, equatorial reflectors, refractors, and Schmidt-Cassegrains alike.
The Telrad projects a series of concentric red rings (4 degrees, 2 degrees, and one-half degree in diameter) on a tilted clear viewing plate at the top of the finder. These circles make it easy to starhop from object to object. If a galaxy is 10 degrees north of a known star, for example, two 4 degree Telrad jumps and one 2 degree jump from the known star will take you to that galaxy in seconds. The half-degree circle makes it easy to quickly center a computerized scope on guide stars for start-up alignment, and to center on planets, comets, and deep space objects if you’re scanning the sky manually. The red circles can be seen from virtually any distance behind the Telrad, from two inches to two feet, so eyeglass-wearers can easily use the finder.

Collimating knobs at the back of the Telrad allow you to line up the finder with your main scope optics. An on/off switch and integral rotary brightness control allow you to match the finder brightness to your eye’s dark adaptation. The Telrad uses two 1.5V AA batteries

Sky at Night Magazine said "we loved the view through the Telrad and everything worked without fuss"

Baader planetarium SILICA - GEL

Baader planetarium SILICA - GEL
Silica gel - drying agent 125ml with pollution free color indicator

Most damage to stored Optics equipment is caused by humidity trapped within the enclosed storage area itself. Humidity trapped within enclosed space turns into almost imperceptible condensation which causes irreparable damage. Silica gel prevents these moisture related problems before they begin. Silica gel creates a protective shield of dry air within any enclosed storage area.

The Silica Gel crystals have a built-in indicator which turns from pink to clear signalling when the product is saturated with moisture and needs reactivation. Once saturated with moisture, silica gel can be easily reactivated in a conventional oven for lifetime protection.

The Illustrated Atlas of the Universe

The Illustrated Atlas of the Universe — NEW!

As spacecraft and telescopes grow ever more sophisticated, it seems that there is no end to what they can show us. The Illustrated Atlas of the Universe brings it all together in one package. It will show you what is in the Universe, how it all fits together — even how you can best get out there and start seeing it all for yourself.
The book is split into ten chapters that will enable you to quickly find what it is you are looking for. The first eight chapters present a quasi-encyclopedic inventory of the Universe’s main contents: the Earth and Moon, the Inner Solar System, the Outer Solar System, the Nearest Stars, the Local Neighbourhood, the Milky Way, the Local Group of Galaxies, and the Universe of Galaxies. Chapter nine guides you through the seasons, mapping out what you can expect to see in the sky in any given direction — north or south of the equator, any time of year. And the final chapter details all 88 constellations, picking out noteworthy features such as famous nebulae, stars and galaxies.
Packed with hundreds of beautiful, full-color photos, maps and illustrations, bang up to date and authoritative, the Illustrated Atlas of the Universe is your passbook to the cosmos and our place in it
