'SP - Series'
Super-Plossl Eyepieces Standard 1.25"/31.7mm eyepieces set high performance standards for modern telescope oculars. The proven 4-element Plossl designs display edge-to-edge pinpoint imaging across their panoramic 52° fields. Utilisation of top quality optical glass, superior multilayer coatings and edge-blackened elements deliver superb high contrast images. 'SP-Series' eyepieces minimise spherical aberration, distortion, astigmatism and off-axis colour, whilst their oversized optical elements afford the observer luxurious eye relief. Stray light is eliminated by the fold back rubber eyecups, standard with every 'SP-Series' eyepiece, and all but the lightest three models feature the security of rubber grips. Whether observing fine planetary detail or deep space wonder, whether your telescope is a Newtonian, Refractor or Catadioptric, let the high performance imaging of 'SP-Series' eyepieces unlock its potential!! |

Rubber eyecups These soft rubber eyecups are perfect for daytime viewing, or viewing at night from a light-polluted site. They improve the eyepiece view and comfort greatly, and the side wings or blinkers act as screens to ensure that the minimum amount of extraneous light enters your eye so that you only see the light that has passed through the telescope. They will fit most popular 1.25 Plössl eyepieces. With most eyepieces the existing rubber eyecup should be left in place - simply fit the winged version over the top. They are also the ideal compliment for binocular viewing systems especially when used for solar observing. |

Barlows The Barlow lens
is used to multiply the focal length (Magnifying Power) of the objective
lens. It is inserted between the diagonal and the eyepiece. The benefits
of using a Barlow lens to increase magnification are: 1. Improved eye
relief. 2. Reduced spherical Aberration in the eyepiece. |

Tal Filter Set #80A Blue (30% transmission): A popular filter for the study of Jupiter and Saturn. Enhances contrast of rilles and festoons in Jupiter's cloud belts, as well as details of the Red Spot. Brings out detail in Saturn's belts and polar phenomena. Very useful as a contrast-enhancing lunar filter. P01 Green
Filter (24%
transmission): Use on telescopes 8" aperture and larger to reject
blue- and red-toned structures on the surface of Jupiter and thereby
increase their contrast relative to lighter parts of the disc. Also
use for the enhancement of Saturn's cloud belts and polar regions. Strongly
increases contrast of Mars' polar ice caps, and increases contrast of
atmospheric phenomena on Venus.

Light Pollution Filters 1.25” and 2” These contrast-enhancing anodized aluminium, optical glass filters are designed to block out the wavelengths of light emitted by mercury-vapour light and other common causes of light pollution, whilst providing higher transmission at critical hydrogen-alpha and hydrogen-beta lines than competing filters. Bright, light-polluted skies appear much darker, and the contrast between object and sky is improved significantly. This contrast-enhancement effect is particularly apparent on nebulae. Unlike stars, emission nebulae give off light in a very narrow range of wavelengths. These filters allow maximum transmission of the important wavelengths of H-alpha, H-beta and doubly ionized oxygen – the ones most commonly emitted by nebulae. Views of galaxies and star clusters are also enhanced, but to a lesser degree. Also improves contrast on reddish planetary detail. Works well in telescopes of all apertures but is highly recommended for use on smaller telescopes up to 114mm diameter, where conventional filters swallow up too much light. Available in two sizes, threaded to fit either standard 1.25” or 2” astronomical eyepieces. Supplied with storage case. |

UHC (Ultra High Contrast) Filters 1.25" and 2" The narrowband UHC filter, like the O-III filter, isolates the two doubly ionized oxygen lines (496 and 501nm) in addition to the hydrogen-beta line (486nm) emitted by planetary and most emission nebulae. This filter permits superb views of objects like the Orion, Lagoon, Swan and other extended nebulae. It performs well in smaller aperture instruments owing to its greater light transmission than the O-III, yet still suppresses light pollution well. The UHC filter is the best all-around dark-sky nebula filter. Available in two sizes, threaded to fit either standard 1.25” or 2” astronomical eyepieces. Supplied with storage case. |

The new Baader AstroSolarT
Safety Film (neutral density=5) Baader Planetarium is a
safety film for solar observation. It is made for the construction
of high-quality objective-filters for observing the sun with telescopes,
binoculars, camera or video-lenses. This foil is CE-tested and reduces
the intensity of sunlight by 99.999%. Baader Planetariums AstroSolarTM safety film is a specially manufactured streak- and blisterfree foil. It attains the optical performance of planeparallel glass filters. The base material is not "Mylar"!. The basic development of this film was made in laboratories for nuclear- and particle physics. High density coatings on both sides of the foil ensures a highly uniform filtering, while neutralizing the occasional miscroscopic holes in the coating. The image of the sun is extremely contrasty and of almost neutral colour. Please note: Solar observing is dangerous and can be hazardous to eyesight. Safety is everyone's responsibility - please read the safety notes supplied with the product carefully. |
